Amazing and generously portioned food at good prices. Staff are very friendly. Interior is pretty spartan but honestly the food is so good it's not even a concern.
Standard fare just a tad too oily
Nice place but felt judge
I have been all over the DMV looking for QUALITY and TASTEFUL AUTHENTIC Jamaican food. And this is it. I haven’t been this impressed in a while. If you’re in the area (ie all of the DMV) you need to stop by. I highly recommend this place. I had the curry goat with food and plantain and my wife had the oxtail with rice and callaloo. I would add pictures but we ate too quickly lol.
My experience is always good when visiting this restaurant. Mr. Cain is an awesome person and his wife and other workers are very presentable and always attentive.
This place sells the best Jamaican food😍😍I feel at home everytime i go there. The food is excellent, there bullacake is delicious and i also love there Tamarind Balls, fruit is sticky, tart and sweet with several seeds in each pod...i just LOVE there food. The picture above is what i got last night which is curry chicken, rice nd beans and my boyfriend had oxtail with some other stuff nd goat soup nd beef patty nd coco bread...BOTTOM LINE THIS PLACE IS A GOOD PLACE TO GO IF U LOOKING FOR A GOOD HOMEMADE MEAL😍😍😍
I love that place..the rice and peas is on point along with the fish meal. I catch myself going there almost every week. The best place to eat.
Good food at reasonable prices and usually quick service. Portions/ preparation varies at times depending on the person serving at the counter. Generally pleased.
The food is usually good....... Sometimes better than other times..... The other downside is the people who run this place are unfriendly and NEVER smile or interact with you its just a glum atmosphere........
One of the best Caribbean restaurants around town.If you want a tasty like home cooked meal, check out this joint!.
Good jamaican taste, friendly staffs 👍🏼
I m Hispanic and I absolutely love love Jamaican food !! I always go for the oxtail ! Absolutely delicious and sooo favorable!
Ew don’t buy from here. Whoever cooks in this restaurant should be fired .
Very well prepared and tasty dishes, reasonably priced, with courteous and pleasant service.
This is as good as it gets for Jamaican food in NW DC. I order from here regularly and the food is consistent. The owners are almost always there and friendly. It's important to note this is Jamaican, not Trinidadian or "carribean", food. The flavor profile is different and unlike what I've found along Georgia Ave to the city.My only complaint is their spicy beef patties aren't very good to me. Too much butter(?) in the crust and often overpowering onion taste.
This place is awesome. I'm sad they moved from their old location near my house.
Bought some oxtail today, the food was very nasty. The greens taste old. A waste of $15 dollars. The only thing was good there was there Jamaican patties. Will not eat there again
The food is delicious and the owners are wonderful people. I look forward to come to Silver Spring for a delicious meal. You should try this place, authentic Jamaican food.
The give back wrong change as if they don’t know how to count money be careful and watch them when they give back your change! Ask them how much is the tax because that’s how sneaky they are I wouldn’t make nothing like this up if it wasn’t true
After passing by this place at least 3 times a week for the last month leaving my physical therapy at ATI next door . I decided to go in . First alarm was rude lady rolling her eyes and just walks away into the back as though I wasn't there. Someone had to call them out to help me. I was the only patron there. I ordered 2 beef patties 2 coco breads and a large order of brown stew with cabbage and rice and peas. The beef patties were the nastiest ever( beef paste inside the patty) the brown stew was full of bones with a weird taste . The brown stew is my go-to dish and this by far was noworth my 23 bucks . After tasting it , I chucked it to the trash and got Chinese
The food is good. I always have the brown stew and steamed vegetables (cabbage and carrots). I had greens thinking it was callaloo but wasn't, that wasn't good. Oh neither was the jerk chicken dish....it lacked the spiciness. The fried dumplings are the BEST. Servers are nice. I wish they were open before 10/11a during the week. Lastly, they are relocating, so currently closed, and have not posted the new location yet.
Nice & Spice 🔥🔥🔥
Great energy! It was clean, food is fresh, and great portions. I glad to be back home...thank you Uncle Cleve and Auntie Paulette!
Very oily, but well seasoned and tender meat. Always have curry goat, but mistakenly asked for ox tail, and was surprised I liked it😁

Good tasting Jamaican food
So delicious bro you should definitely try :)
This place is now located in Tastee Tropics, food was well done, great taste and very clean environment..
Yum yummy
Customer service should be better
Love the food and my coconut drops.
Very neat and convenient restaurant. They offer large portions and for reasonable rates. I loved the meals very much and the waiters were super personal and explanatory. Recommended.
Best Jamaican food in the area and the staff is amazing.
One of the best Jamaican/Caribbean restaurant in town.. hands down. ^_^
The best Jamican food in the area, you will be missed
Delicious & authentic Jamaican food!Service is always outstanding! You cannot beat the flavor & selection!
Food is ok. Service is clearly angry Jamaican. Expect to have the server's eyes roll at you, if they even bother to acknowledge you at all. Service is incredibly slow, even with no line. They are doing you a favor by feeding you. There are better Jamaican places around with better food
Wonderful homestyle Jamaican food. Family owned restaurant. Best curried goat in Silver Spring.
Words can not express my love for this place; maybe I'm being bias because I'm Caribbean. Either way, this place knows how to cook the REAL Jamaica food!!! It's a small yet friendly environment. The staff is like family to me. It's own by a husband & wife duo. They are dedicated to good & well seasoned food!!! In my humble opinion; this is the BEST JAMAICAN restaurant in the metropolitan area. PERIOD. I've tried countless other locations (most of them are no longer here). I truly wish they had hundreds of locations so people would taste the difference. You won't be disappointed folks!! Tell them Andre' sent u. 😉👍I put my name on it!!!!! MAJOR GO. God bless. One luv.👊
This is one of my favorite Jamcian restaurants in Maryland.. maybe my favorite. The food is so rich and flavorful. The service is reasonable but can feel a bit sluggish depending on the staffing. The decor is not particularly inspired, but the food is what you come for and that doesn't disappoint. It's located in the white oak shopping center allowing you to handle other business while you pick up food. The prices arent cheap, but they wouldn't be for quality jamaican food. I definately reccomend the Oxtail combo.Traveler and Adventurer - IG @brian.dent
Food is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful, if you are not familiar with the cuisine they take the time to help you decide.
The food looked like it was sitting out all day... which was disappointing because I’ve had the food before and it was delicious. I ended up leaving with just a patty and coco Bread.
Nice & Spicy is NICE & SPICY!!!😄
The stewed chicken was dry and it it was only 2 so it shouldn't have been old like that
I ordered a couple beef patties one of them was an it on the old side and hard. The food itself is good but the people who run this place never smile. Weird atmosphere
Goat soup (aka Manish Water) was great. Curry goat not so much. Service was top notch and staff are extremely funny and friendly.
I just bought some rice, kale and lamb the food is spoiled! Can’t even take one bite! I called the place to informed them but she was arguing with me 😬
The BEST Caribbean/Jamaican food I've had so far in the DMV area. Goat soup was so good- spice was just right. I also wanted breakfast for dinner and had some liver with fried dumplings- I truly felt like I was home in the Caribbean. I'll be back. Thank you ladies!!
I stopped on my way from Rockville back to the office in Marriottsville to grab a bite for lunch. Saw "Jamaican food" on the sign and couldn't resist. The curried goat is delicious and tender, and the collard greens and rice and peas are great as well. Service was good. I will definitely be returning any time I pass through the area around lunch time!
1. Expensive prices.2. The worker was obviously new & wasn’t well trained.3. The ice cream was harder than a rock 4. They’re clearly on a budget
